Dec 19, 2009- (The views expressed in this blog are the views of Bryan Benway, and may not be the views of the Laredo Bucks organization). Oh Hi Friends. I am writing to you from the press box at the Amarillo Civic Center about four hours before gametime between the Bucks and Gorillas. I just want to say that we made it out of the Big Texan alive, and now let's hope that we make it out of the City of Amarillo! Nothing bad is going on here we just really want to get out of the City of Amarillo.

Let's talk first about a popular subject today, the health of Maxime Lincourt. As I mentioned during Thursday's broadcast, Lincourt was injured on a play about mid-way through the first period but played the rest of the game in a lot of pain. El Presidente Coach Rosco was quoted in the Laredo Morning Times today as saying that Lincourt may not play tonight, which would obvisously hurt the offense a bit.

I have an update on Lincourt for you all.

He did not participate in morning skate today, but he will go out for warm-ups and will be a game time decision. It depends on how he feels after warm-ups, if he thinks he can play through it then he will go, if not he won't. It's that simple. I'm not going to lie to you, losing your top goal scorer (Lincourt is tied with Darryl Smith with nine goals) will be a blow to the offense, especially an offense that has been struggling as of late. We will see if Max can go tonight, i'll have more of a report on the pre-game show tonight.

As for the rest of the morning skate today, since the Gorillas had a six hour bus ride last night from Tulsa they did not skate this morning, so the Bucks went on the ice about a half hour earlier at 10:30am. Like I mentioned yesterday, the Bucks did not practice yesterday, and Rosco was not happy with the skate today. That's all i'll say about that. I hope the Bucks come out a bit crisper tonight than they were this morning, for all of our sakes!

Kyle Gajewski will get the start in net again tonight, his second start in a row. This will be the second time this season that juice has started two straight games for the Bucks. Remember way back at the beginning of the season he started the Bucks second (Oct. 17) and third games of the year (Oct 23). The confidence is building for the juice, and let's hope he comes out and plays at the same level that he did Thursday in Corpus.

All of the talk around the Bucks today was how they cannot take the Gorillas lightly tonight. Sure, Amarillo is in last place, but they do have some good talent on their team. Nobody really can figure out why they are struggling, but they are winless in their last six (0-5-1), including losing their last five in regulation.

A big key for the Bucks tonight will be getting a jump on the Gorillas and getting up on them early. That will hurt their confidence big time and go a long way to the Bucks winning tonight.

Right after the game tonight the Bucks will get on the bus and head to Independence, Missouri, which is about a 10 hour ride i'm told. The plan is to arrive in Missouri at around 9am, drop the equipment off at the arena, head to the hotel, change really quickly, and then then all of us have tickets to the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Cleveland Browns game tomorrow at Arrowhead Stadium! Yesterday all of us bought gloves and heavy clothes, as it will be around 30 degrees tomorrow at the game.

A lot of guys are really excited to go to the game, especially Lance Monych. Lance and I were chatting yesterday and he is a huge football fan and can't wait to go to the game tomorrow.

I'm trying to recruit some of the guys to take our shirts off and paint Chiefs on our chests! That would be a site huh? So far i've had no takers, and I doubt I will get any. So I won't be taking my shirt off all by myself tomorrow, sorry ladies!

So if the blog is late tomorrow I apologize, i'll be at the game and won't blog until later tomorrow night or even Monday morning (which is more likely).

I have to tell you something funny before I go.

Like I mentioned before, the Big Texan does not have very good internet service. As I was walking to the bus this afternoon to head to the arena early, I saw Benjamin Dieude-Fauvel sitting outside of his hotel room indian style on his lap top. Now, there are no hallways to the rooms, when you walk out of your room you are outside. So there's Benny sitting on the ground in 35 degree weather writing an e-mail to somebody back home in France because the internet does not work in the rooms there! So that's what I saw today. Funny stuff.

I'm glad for all of you who bought Lil Wayne tickets that you will be able to go to tonight's show after it was postponed from last night, due to "Weezy" getting detained. I was hoping that the concert would be postponed until we were back in town so I could see it, but that's not the case. Have fun all, especially the kid's of Laredo!

Oh yeah, my pick for tonight's Cowboys/Saints game:

Saints 35, Cowboys 17.

Enjoy both the Bucks and Cowboys games tonight, I will get back with you sometime tomorrow or Monday from Missouri!

Until next time,

It will be a hot one in the old town tonight!

GO BUCKS GO!
