LAREDO, TX: The Laredo Bucks, in conjunction with the Central Hockey League, announced Monday that Bucks forward Rusty Masters has been named the Oakley CHL Player of the Week. Masters is the first player on the Bucks roster to receive this honor this season.

Rusty Masters had both game winning goals this weekend, when the Bucks swept the Killer Bees at home. He is the current leader in points on the Bucks roster with 30. Rusty has had 5 points in the last 5 games. He currently has 30 points in 37 games, scoring 10 goals and 20 assists. Masters has had a total of 4 game winning goals this season. He also had a 4 point night on December 30th, where he scored 1 goal and had 3 assists versus Allen.

“Rusty has been playing well all year. He improves every game and is a key to our success,” states Head Coach Serge Dube.

Rusty Masters is 25 years old from Grafton, Ontario. Masters split time last season between the Mississippi Surge (SPHL) and the Mississippi Riverkings (CHL). Before turning pro, he attended Elmira College where he was called up for 2 games to the Elmira, Jackals (ECHL).
